What does xe stand for in cars

Most Toyota trim levels consist of a few letters, and on their surface, it can be difficult to understand what those letters mean.

We are here to clear all of that up for you. What do all the Toyota trim level names mean? For the common names, you can actually piece things together once you know a few letters. E always means Edition, L almost always means Luxury except when it comes to the L trim which is just entry level , S always means Sport, and X almost always means Executive except in a few cases where it means Extreme.

XE bucks the normal trend and actually stands for Extreme Sport Edition. Historically and on some of the less common models, you may find a few other trim level designations. There are some models that employ TRD trim levels.

I took my Pathfinder in today for an inspection I'm preparing for a long road trip an didn't want to take any chances and the guy at the shop asked me if it's an SE, LE, or XE. I had to tell him "I don't know", and I felt pretty stupid. What is the difference between the three models, and what do they include?

SE is the sport level; they usually have alloy wheels, usually cloth seats with leather optional, optional sun roof and external tire rack. The receipt from the shop says XE.
